He Calls Us by Name

Mmmmmmmmm.....................

I have been drinking lately from a fountain I like to visit often (unable to in person, she lives in Greater Vancouver, B.C.), but through listening to her songs, reading what she writes, seeing what she paints and watching her life.
She is a close friend of my brother Peter and his wife Sarah. She is married to David, whose family has been closely intertwined with mine since before he was born. Their lives are an inspiration to me.

I would like to share with you a particular song of hers today...

MY NAME
Written by Anna Vandas
She says, "This song was written about what it was like to hear God's voice speak my name to me."

MY NAME

Stepping lightly to the door in the dark
Light leaking onto my toes
Tilting my head to the cold wood
Leaning to hear what I could
Of you
And what I heard
What I heard
You spoke my name
You spoke my name
You spoke my name
Lord
You spoke my name
Closing my eyes in a multitude
And breathing in slow for awhile
I could never go anywhere without you
You're closer than these people rushing by
You're presence stills me
You're presence stills me
You spoke my name
You spoke my name
You spoke my name
Lord
You spoke my name
I was expecting shame
I was expecting shame
You spoke my name
With a smile on your face
You spoke my name
You spoke my name
You spoke my name
Lord
You spoke my name
You spoke my name
You spoke my name
You spoke my name
With a smile on your face

Great music. Music that i have been listening too in my livingroom has really been feeding my spirit. Especially, Katheryn Scott.

One more comment from quica. I thought it was identical to the last one (computer glitch) so I erased it, but then realized it was different after all! Here it is, copied from my email:

I love this artist- one of my favourites for sure!
I believe you gave this C/D to my mom a few years back and i have been listening to it ever since. Her lyrics are so genuine, and her voice is so soothing!
