When I asked the Lord for a word for 2008 He took it literally. He gave me one word: REVEALING. The only explanation with that word was, "as in gifts coming out of the closet". The dictionary defines revealing as, "to make known; show". It wasn't until last night, as I lay awake listening to my daughter coughing (strepthroat, 2nd set of antibiotics, various sickness in our house since Christmas...) that I recieved more on that word. I lay there pondering and praying and I found myself praying for grace until the sons of God are revealed...WHAM! It penetrated deep into my spirit at that moment, that this is what God was talking about. He is going to begin to reveal His sons and daughters. Not unlike a birthing.
Romans 8: 18,19,22,23
"I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us. The creation waits in eager expectation for the sons of God to be revealed. We know that the whole creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time. Not only so, but we ourselves, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for our adoption as sons, the redemption of our bodies."
Some of us are in a birth canal situation, we're hidden, it's dark, often lonely, quite hungry/thirsty, and we are feeling seriously squeezed. We need to remember, however, it is God who brings to birth, not us. If we can keep that truth in focus we will find peace in Him in the midst of all that is going on in our lives.
Let us be like David, turning to the Lord. Keep turning to the Lord. David's birth canal cave time proved his heart; a heart after God's own heart.
This is to my fellow birth canal cave-dwellers; in the words of a good friend of mine, "your gift is coming out gold".
His grace is sufficient.
God keep you.
God justify you.
He delivers what He brings to the moment of birth (Isaiah 66).
