Offering In Obedience

My thoughts...

The Ultimate Act of Worship

"And whenever the living creatures offer glory and honour and thanksgiving to Him Who sits on the throne, Who lives forever and ever, the 24 elders fall prostrate before Him Who is sitting on the throne, and they worship Him Who lives forever and ever; and they throw down their crowns before the throne, crying out, Worthy are You our Lord and God, to recieve (our offering of) the glory and the honour and dominion, for You created all things; by Your will they were (brought into being) and were created (and are also able to resurrect them by your creative power).

Revelation 4:9-11 Amplified Black text mine

A Test of Faith

God asks Abraham to give Him his only son, the son of promise (a seed) from the Lord, Abraham's destiny, as an offering.

Genesis 22: 1-19 NIV Black text mine

"Abraham said to his servants, "stay here with the donkey while I and the boy go over there. We will worship and then we will come back to you." verse 5

"...God Himself will provide the lamb for the offering..." verse 8

"...When they reached the place God had told Him about...he bound his son and laid him on the altar..." verse 9

"...Now I know that you fear God, because you have not witheld from me your son, your only son (your promised gift, destiny, seed, crown)." verse 12 (then God provided a ram instead, in verse 13)

"So Abraham called that place, "The Lord Will Provide". And to this day it is said, "On the mountain (a symbol for the kingdom of either God or man) of the Lord it will be provided." verse 14

"...because you have done this and have not witheld your son (promise, destiny, gift, seed, crown), I will surely bless you and make your descendants as numerous as the stars in the sky (multiplication)..." verses 16-17

"...and through your seed all nations on earth will be blessed, because you have obeyed me." verse 18

More blessing promised for obeying the Lord in offerings: Malachi 3: 10-12
